Agriculture Ministry suggests grain export quota of 17.5 mln tns

MOSCOW, Nov 30 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry has suggested introduction of a 17.5 million tonne quota on grain exports of grain from February 15, 2021 through June 30, 2021, as seen by PRIME on Monday in the materials of the government’s website for disclosure of legal information.

The government earlier introduced a 7 million tonne quota on exports of grain from April 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020. In mid-November, the ministry suggesting slapping a 15 million tonne quota on exports of wheat, rye, barley, and corn from February 15, 2021 through June 30, 2021, but it was raised to 17.5 million tonnes after an independent anti-corruption review.

The Economic Development Ministry is now to submit a suggestion to the Eurasian Economic Commission on introduction of a temporary quota on exports of grain outside the Eurasian Economic Union, which comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
